Kassala hosts a consultation session on children without parental care

Child Development Foundation( CDF) in coordination with Minister of Social Development ,Kassala State supported by UNICEF organized a consultation session on Children Without Parental Care to ensure the continuity of sponsorship for children without parental care and the transition from institutional care to family care. Decision-makers and supporting bodies from federal and state organizations and ministries participated, with the ultimate goal being the continuity of care for these children within the framework of an integrated package aimed at promoting their proper upbringing and ensuring their psychological and social stability.
The Secretary-General of the National Council for Child Welfare (NCCW), Abdulqader Abdullah Abu, revealed that the purpose of the consultation session for decision-makers on the situation of children without parental care is to ensure the continuity of their sponsorship and to shift from institutional care to emergency family care and permanent sponsorship under a very big slogan: “Together to ensure the continuity of the protection and care of children.” our children who lack parental care, especially those with disabilities, under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Development in Kassala State .
He also revealed their intention to make more efforts to support and care for this important segment and said that children need a lot of attention and care, especially children who are residents of families with disabilities in Kassala.
The Secretary-General saluted the responsible authorities, led by the Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare, who directed the Council to hold this important session, reviewing what happened during the session.
He said during press releases that the session was attended by speakers from UNICEF and speakers from the CDF, as well as the National Council for Child Welfare and the Ministry of Social Development, who presented papers, discussions, and comments aimed at strengthening the path of families that sponsor these children.
This is a new matter because it involves families that sponsor children who have lost their parents’ care, and at the same time, these children are disabled, with more than 23 children and the rest of them being about 30 children on their way to sponsorship. On the other hand, in Wad Sharifin, we have 30 children between the ages of 6 and 13 who are now also under sponsorship. But does it mean that the National Council for Child Care has closed the file of the Maquma, the largest sponsor of children without parental care? What we say is that we closed the file of the miquma I mean we are doing the necessary prevention, and at the same time we encourage families to sponsor these children and not to be children who are in institutional roles because they are very difficult secretions The last secretion is war, they have no power so we want them to be inside the families
The Secretary-General thanked the Federal and State Zakat Chamber for their contributions towards children, as well as the health insurance and social safety commissioners. He also expressed gratitude to UNICEF for its unwavering support for children.
