Vector Control Campaigns Launching in 4 States

The Federal Ministry of Health has announced the launch of vector control campaigns in four states. The Director of Vector Control, Hamza Sami Al-Jak, stated in a press release that the campaigns were launched in the states of Al-Jazira, targeting all its localities; White Nile; Al-Qatina; and Tindalti, Sennar, and Al-Gedaref, targeting the municipality of Al-Gedaref in the center of Al-Gedaref, in addition to the Al-Faw locality, to combat the vectors of dengue and malaria fever.

The Governor of White Nile, Lieutenant General Qamar al-Din Mohamed Fadl al-Mawla, inaugurated the major campaign to combat disease vectors in response to dengue fever at the state government buildings in Barbak.

The Acting Director General of the Ministry of Health and Social Development, Dr. Al-Zein Saad, confirmed that the campaign comes within the state’s comprehensive plan in the field of vector control, with a focus on preventive measures.

Moussa Ahmed Mohammadani, World Health Organization, pointed out that the campaign targets the localities of Al-Qatina and Dalti with 1500 volunteers in all axes: home inspections, insect survey teams, and fog spraying outside and inside homes, in addition to reinforcement teams to deliver health awareness messages.
