UNSC Meets on Sudan and Escalation in El Fasher

UNSC will hold a meeting at 10:00 PM today, Thursday, to discuss the situation in Sudan following the escalation of violence by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in El Fasher, in the northeast. The Council will hear a briefing from UN officials before holding closed consultations, during which the UN Secretary-General will address the situation in Sudan.

The UN Fact-Finding Mission on Sudan will also present its report to the General Assembly.
