The governor of West Darfur meets with the director of the Federal Health Insurance

The Governor of West Darfur, General Bahr al-Din Adam Karama, met today with the Acting Director of the Federal Health Insurance, Dr. Al-Farabi Ibrahim, as part of the continuous efforts of the West Darfur State Government, led by General Bahr al-Din Adam Karama, to improve the conditions of citizens and enhance health services.
The meeting discussed a number of issues related to IDPs, refugees, and state workers, as well as ways to expand the umbrella of health insurance to include the largest possible number of beneficiaries, especially in light of the exceptional circumstances that the country is going through.
The meeting also addressed the conditions of health insurance workers in eastern Chad, whose salaries have been suspended. The governor directed the need to urgently address their conditions and ensure their financial and employment rights while accelerating the inventory process and completing the procedures to cover their salaries, in appreciationof their efforts and their continued performance of their duties despite the difficult circumstances.
During the meeting, General Karama stressed the importance of the pivotal role of health insurance in improving medical services for vulnerable groups affected by the war, pointing out that the state government pays special attention to the health care file and seeks to achieve comprehensive coverage for all displaced people in safe states.
The governor stressed the need to pay special attention to refugees in refugee camps, especially those suffering from chronic diseases such as diabetes, blood pressure and kidney failure, stressing that the state is working in coordination with health organizations and partners to ensure the continuity of treatment and care for these critical cases.
The Acting Director of Federal Health Insurance, Dr. Al-Farbi Ibrahim, reviewed his department’s plans to expand the scope of service and improve performance in health facilities, pointing to an urgent plan to include refugees and IDPs in health insurance programs in coordination with the state government and the relevant authorities.
The governor concluded the meeting by stressing that the health of the citizen is the first line of defense for life, and that the state government continues to provide services and care to all the people of the state without discrimination, believing that building human beings is the basis for the process of stability and development.
