The Federal Emergency Operations Center reviews the health situation in the country

The 111th meeting of the Federal Emergency Operations Center (FEC) on Tuesday at its headquarters at the Federal Ministry of Health in Khartoum reviewed the health situation in the country and the interventions implemented by the various departments during the 40th week from October 4 to 10.
The surveillance and information report revealed a decrease in the rate of cholera and dengue fever, with an increase in malaria, with 3,473 dengue fever cases recorded in the country from 8 states, including Khartoum, Al-Jazira, Kassala, and White Nile, resulting in 29 deaths. Meanwhile, cholera infections reached 611 cases from 15 states, including North Kordofan, South Kordofan, South Darfur, Central Darfur, and East Darfur. Additionally, 50,000 positive cases of malaria were recorded in the country, along with 138 cases of hepatitis epidemic, including one death, all in the Gezira State .
While the Health Promotion Report indicated the continuation of activities, including home visits, lectures, training, panel discussions, and interactive theater in a number of states, the supply report acknowledged the disparity in the abundance of epidemic medicines and consumables in the 58 items of the State Supply Fund. It also highlighted the disparity in the medicines for cholera and fever, in addition to the supply from a number of organizations to some states.
The report of the National Public Health Laboratory explained the details of the samples examined in the state laboratories and the continuation of the work of the mobile laboratories.
In addition, the quarantine report indicated the continuation of various activities at all ports, including health triage, food control, international vaccination, vector control, and others, noting gaps, challenges, and solutions.
The report on the health situation in Khartoum State announced a decrease in the incidence of cholera and dengue fever following interventions from home inspections and health promotion. The Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ali Babiker, praised the work of the center and its progress in light of the ongoing emergency, directing more effective mechanisms.
