Sudanese Army Sends New Military Reinforcements

The Sudanese Army’s Fourth Infantry Division has sent massive military reinforcements to the battlefronts in the western states, as part of ongoing operations to regain control of areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces militia.
These moves come amid escalating confrontations between the two sides. Several areas in western Sudan are witnessing violent clashes, amid repeated local and international calls for a ceasefire and a return to the political dialogue table.
These reinforcements are the latest in a series of military movements carried out by the army over the past weeks, in an attempt to consolidate its positions and reclaim vital areas that have slipped out of its control in recent months.
Field sources indicate that the reinforcements include armored vehicles and specialized combat units, reflecting a readiness to expand the scope of military operations amid faltering political efforts.
