Sudan Participates in the Annual Meetings of the IMF and the WB in Washington

The 2025 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank kicked off yesterday in Washington, D.C., from October 13 to 18. Sudan is participating with a high-level delegation headed by Mohamed Nour Abdel Daim, Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, and with the participation of Mohamed Bashar, Undersecretary of Planning at the Ministry, and His Excellency Mohamed Abdullah Idris, Sudan’s Ambassador to Washington. The delegation includes officials from the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank, and representatives from the government and private sectors.

The meetings will address international efforts to support global growth, address debt, finance the transition to clean energy, accelerate gender equality, mechanisms for achieving sustainable development, and issues facing global financial markets.

The annual meetings of the Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank bring together central bank governors, ministers of finance and development, parliamentarians, private sector representatives, civil society organizations, and academics to discuss issues of global concern, including the global economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness.

The IMF and World Bank meetings also feature seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and many other events focusing on the global economy, climate change, international development, and the global financial system.
