Northern State Confirms Interest in Awareness and Prevention Programs for Diseases

The National Health Insurance Fund, Northern State Branch, in cooperation with the initiative of journalist Lymia Mutawakil for breast cancer awareness, celebrated today in the locality of Al-Dibba the Pink October for early detection and awareness of the disease. The Executive Director of Dibba Locality, Mohamed Saber Mohamed Ahmed, addressed the ceremony, praising the efforts of the National Health Insurance Fund, Northern Branch, and the initiative of media professional Lymia Mutawakil and their significant role in establishing awareness programs and activities to prevent breast cancer.
He also praised the efforts of the health insurance and its keenness to provide the best health services to local citizens and expatriates in the locality from war-affected states, and called for more work, cooperation, and joint coordination between the local government and the National Health Insurance Fund
in the state in order to improve and develop health services.
The Director of the National Health Insurance Fund in the North, Dr. Shiraz Omar Hijazi, confirmed the Fund’s interest in awareness programs and the prevention of diseases, especially breast cancer, and saluted the efforts of the Executive Director of Al-Dabba Locality for standing side by side with the Fund’s programs and activities.
She pointed out that the local government is committed to working on major health programs during the coming period, adding that the Fund’s program in Pink October includes clinics for early detection and awareness lectures at the Fund’s direct centers in Dongola, Dabba, and Karima, which started today and will continue until after tomorrow, Thursday.
The Director of the Executive Unit of Health Insurance in Al-Dabba Locality, Mr. Ahmed Bashir Abdel Baqi, explained the implementation of early detection clinics and awareness programs in the Al-Afada area and Hosh Melit for displaced people from Darfur and Kordofan states.
