The Capacity Building Workshop in Human-Centered Design to Increase Routine Vaccination Coverage Launching

The training workshop for capacity building in the field of human-centered design to increase the coverage of routine vaccination was launched on Tuesday at the Al-Raih Al-Tarifi Hall in Kassala State and will continue until next Friday, which is organized by the Department of Health Promotion and the Expanded Programme on Immunization at the Federal Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Patient Assistance Fund with the support of UNICEF.
The states of Kassala, the Nile River and the North are participating in the workshop as a first stage.
In the opening session, Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Abdullah, Acting Director of the General Directorate of Basic Health Care, said that human-centered design is a problem-solving and innovation approach that focuses mainly on the needs of the targeted communities in order to develop mechanisms that effectively contribute to raising routine immunization coverage by designing awareness messages and action plans that are consistent with immunization strategies.
Nader Hammad, representative of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), pointed out that the training workshop is a great opportunity at the federal and state levels for quality training, and raising capacities to reach the desired goal of increasing coverage, “as the methodology is an opportunity to cross-pollinate ideas in light of the strong partnership with the Health Promotion Department” to reflect positively on the level of service delivery.
The Deputy Director of the Health Promotion Department, Tawad Abdullah Al-Khader, revealed that the first phase targets the states of Kassala, the North and the Nile River, and will be followed next week by the states of Khartoum, Sennar and White Nile, with a total of 20 localities. She noted that the workshop is in cooperation between Health Promotion and the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) with the Patient Assistance Fund, targeting the employees of the Promotion and Immunization.
The Director of Programs at the Patient Assistance Fund in the Eastern Sudan Region, Mubarak Al-Sharif, pointed out that the workshop is in a smart partnership with the Federal Health Department, represented by the Department of Health Promotion and Expanded Immunization, and with the support of UNICEF, with the aim of increasing routine vaccination and improving immunization indicators.
