The Aerospace Spraying Campaign to Launch Tuesday

The airborne spraying campaign to combat disease vectors will be launched on Tuesday in Khartoum State, in a qualitative step aimed at reducing the spread of mosquitoes and disease-carrying insects, especially in light of the complex environmental conditions witnessed in the capital during the autumn season.

The Director of the Carrier Control Department, Dr. Hamza Sami, announced the start of the campaign in cooperation with the Defense Industries System, which provided technical and logistical support through aircraft designated for aerial spraying. He stressed that this partnership represents a strong boost to the efforts of the Ministry of Health in controlling communicable diseases such as malaria and dengue fever.

Dr. Hamza explained that the campaign targets areas with high population density and areas where swamps and rainwater abound, pointing out that aerial spraying is one of the most effective means to cover large areas within a short period.

This campaign comes within an integrated plan developed by the Federal Ministry of Health in coordination with the Ministry of Health in Khartoum State, and also includes awareness campaigns for citizens on the importance of environmental cleanliness, filling ponds, and getting rid of stagnant water.

Dr. Hamza also called on citizens to cooperate with field teams, and to stay away from spraying places during the implementation of air operations in order to maintain public safety, stressing that the materials used are safe and authorized by the competent authorities.
