Ministry of Finance Pledges to Enforce Interventions to Settle Health Insurance Liabilities

The Minister of Finance, Economy, and Manpower in White Nile State, Fatima Al-Hajj, pledged to enforce interventions to settle and pay the debts of health insurance in the state.

The Director of the General Directorate of Health Services, headed by the National Health Insurance Fund, Dr. Al-Siddiq Al-Tayeb Wahaballah, revealed an increase in health insurance centers in White Nile from 22 to 83 centers. Dr. Wahaballah stated during the meeting of the Federal Supervisory Team with the Minister of Finance of White Nile on Monday that the availability of insurance services in the state is still far from adequate despite the increase in the number of centers.

He stressed the importance of addressing the debts of the National Health Insurance Fund branch in White Nile so that the branch can enforce the directives of the Government of Hope and the Hundred Days Plan, and stressed the importance of integrating the state and federal roles in enforcing the order.

Dr. Wahaballah complained about complications in the procurement of medicines and logistical aids and pointed to the importance of the Ministry of Finance’s support for the state branch.
For his part, White Nile Finance Minister Fatima Al-Hajj pledged to enforce interventions to address health insurance arrears and debts.
It warned of the start of arrears payments from March 2023 in addition to the inventory of debts.
She explained that the treatment of the branch’s arrears will be done through clear interventions by providing logistical support and many inputs to restart the health insurance system in the state.
