Ministry of Minerals denies the signing of an agreement with Deep Metals

Ministry of Minerals issued a press release denying what was circulated about the signing of an investment agreement worth $277 million with Deep Metals Mining Company, confirming that the news was completely untrue, and it did not sign any Memorandum of Understanding or Legal Obligation with the Company until the date of the statement.

The Ministry confirmed that the Government of Sudan welcomes the flow of national and foreign capital, especially from friendly and brotherly countries. encouraging opportunities to invest in various sectors, including mining.
The Ministry of Minerals has stated that Deep Metals, like other companies, has expressed its desire to invest, but has not signed any official agreement with the Ministry, stressing that any investment opportunities are subject to the principles of justice, transparency and regulated conditions. favoritism.
The statement indicated that the ministry is coordinating with the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, within the framework of common understandings aimed at curbing smuggling and unorganized activity in the mining sector, to serve the interests of the two peoples. The Government of Sudan also welcomed the Egyptian companies wishing to invest in the sector.
