Jaber reviews plan to rehabilitate roads and water drains in Khartoum

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, reviewed the plan to rehabilitate roads and bridges, open water drains, and remove violations in Khartoum State.

Chairing a meeting on services and environmental sanitation, attended by Minister of Federal Governance and Rural Development Mohamed Kartkila and the Secretary-General of the Khartoum State Government, His Excellency called for efforts to restore Khartoum State to a better state than it was before the war.

For his part, the Director-General of the Roads, Bridges, and Water Drainage Authority in Khartoum State, Engineer Mukhtar Omar Saber, stated that the meeting discussed issues related to preparing the environment for the return of citizens to Khartoum State, most notably completing environmental sanitation efforts, maintaining roads, disposing of waste and war remnants, combating disease vectors, draining ponds and swamps, and treating drinking water sources.

Engineer Mukhtar pointed out that the meeting discussed providing new mechanisms and logistical resources for road maintenance following the great damage that befell the state’s capabilities in this field, noting the possibility of seeking assistance from neighboring states until the rehabilitation operations are completed according to the established plan.
