UN Designated Expert on Human Rights in Sudan visits Port Sudan

The UN Designated Expert on human rights in Sudan, Radhouane Nouicer, arrived Port Sudan today from 27 to 31 July 2025 to continue to assess the human rights situation in the country amid the ongoing conflict and engage with relevant actors.He was received at Port Sudan airport by the representative of the National Human Rights Mechanism at the Ministry of Justice, Counselor Buthaina Mohamed Al-Tayeb, and the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the mechanism, Ambassador Bilal Qassamallah Al-Siddique.
The UN Designated Expert will hold a number of meetings with government officials and citizens affected by the war, as well as meet with the National Human Rights Mechanism, which includes in its membership government agencies related to the subject of the visit.
