Finance Ministry Signs an Electronic Service Contract with the Blue Nile Mashreq Bank

Today, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning signed an electronic service contract with the Blue Nile Mashreq Bank. The contract was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Finance by Mr. Abdul Mohsen Ahmed, Deputy Director General of the National Audit Office, and on behalf of the bank by Mr. Tariq Abdel Rahman, Director of the Banking Technology Department.

Eng. Lamia Mohamed El Nour, Director General of Information Technology and Head of the Technical Committee for Electronic Payment Emergencies, stated that the number of banks offering the electronic collection and payment service (Esali) has risen to (11) banks. She explained that the Ministry benefits from the banking services and products, as well as the collection and payment services provided by the banks, by collecting and depositing service fees and government transactions electronically in accordance with internationally recognized technical standards and criteria in the field of financial and banking services, in accordance with the policies and regulations of the Central Bank of Sudan. She emphasized the Ministry’s continued efforts to accommodate all banks that meet the technical requirements of the group of banks with which it has contracts.

Abdul Mohsen explained that the transfer is made by standing orders from the Commercial Bank account to the Central Bank of Sudan account within a period not exceeding 48 hours.

Tareq Abdul Rahman pledged to spread awareness and inform the bank’s customers of the readiness of the Mashreq application to immediately begin providing the Isali service.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by the directors of the Treasury and Revenue departments, as well as the Ministry’s legal advisor.
