Agar meets Namibian president, delivers written message from Burhan

Deputy Head of the Sovereignty Council, Malik Agar Eyre, met today in the Namibian capital, Windhoek, with the President of the Republic of Namibia, Dr. Ntumbo Nandi.

He delivered a written message to the Namibian president from the Head of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, regarding the course of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The meeting discussed developments in the country, war and humanitarian issues, ways to develop economic cooperation between the two countries, and the issue of Sudan’s return to the African Union.

Agar briefed the Namibian President on the Sudanese government’s work program and roadmap for ending the crisis, the suffering of the Sudanese people, and the government’s efforts to restore normalcy to citizens following the attempts of the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia and its allies to destroy Sudan. He also provided a detailed explanation of the support the militia receives from regional actors involved in the war.

Deputy Head of the Sovereignty Council emphasized the government’s serious efforts toward peace and silencing the guns, not only in Sudan but across the entire African continent.

For her part, the Namibian President affirmed that her country will support Sudan and its people until Sudan regains its leading role on the continent. She expressed her happiness with the appointment of Dr. Kamil Idris as Prime Minister, noting that this marks the beginning of the restoration of democracy in Sudan.

During the meeting, it was agreed upon the necessity of the joint committees between the two countries to engage and complete their work to reach a common vision that achieves the interests of both countries and peoples.
