The Ministry of Higher Education discusses arrangements for accepting deferred payments for 2023

Within the framework of the ongoing preparations for accepting the postponed batch of Sudanese certificate students for the year 2023, the Admission Committee at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research held a meeting at the Ministry’s temporary office in Port Sudan, headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Prof. Mohamed Hassan Dahab, with the participation of directors of public and private universities, as well as directors of departments in the ministry.
The meeting dealt with the competitive ratios for the admission of Sudanese deferred certificate students, reviewing the planned numbers for general admission and the planned numbers for state admission, based on the results of the Sudanese certificate 2023.

The meeting also discussed arrangements for the admission of Sudanese students with Arab and foreign degrees. A number of university directors submitted proposals aimed at improving admission procedures for the deferred batch, and the committee stressed the need to review the numbers scheduled for general admission to public universities, while recommending that state admission be maintained in accordance with the set plan.

The ministry renewed its commitment to continue accepting students holding Sudanese, Arab and foreign degrees for previous years, within the following admission cycles after general admission. During the meeting, the Undersecretary also stressed the importance of implementing the Prime Minister’s directives related to the gradual return of higher education institutions to Khartoum State.

The meeting also approved the formation of a specialized committee to document the events of the war of dignity, as part of the ministry’s efforts to preserve national memory.
