Sovereignty Council Member Dr. Nuwara Praises Egypt’s Supportive Positions for Sudan

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Dr. Nuwara Abu Mohammed Mohammed Taher, praised Egypt’s supportive stances for Sudan and its role in promoting development in the country.

During a meeting in her office today with the Egyptian Ambassador to Sudan, Ambassador Hani Salah, Dr. Nuwara emphasized the depth and strength of bilateral relations and the need to resolve all outstanding issues, particularly those related to education and reverse migration.

The meeting emphasized the need to enhance economic cooperation and the exchange of goods and services between the two countries to achieve common interests and benefit both peoples.

The meeting discussed ways to develop cooperation to improve the environmental climate in both countries, Sudan’s participation in the 27th Climate Change Conference (COP27), and the issues of Sudanese students studying in Egypt and the need to regularize their conditions, particularly tuition fees.

The meeting emphasized the need for cooperation between the national councils of the two countries, especially in the areas of women, motherhood, childhood, and issues of common interest.

For his part, the Ambassador conveyed the Egyptian government’s congratulations to Dr. Nuwara on gaining the leadership’s confidence and her appointment as a member of the Sovereignty Council.

His Excellency explained that the meeting discussed several topics related to climate and the environment, particularly the Climate Change Conference, noting that the Egyptian Minister of Environment is chairing the United Nations Committee to Combat Desertification. He also noted Egypt’s readiness to exchange expertise with Sudan in this vital field.

The Ambassador affirmed Egypt’s support for the efforts made to address the challenges facing achieving stability in Sudan, expressing his confidence in the ability of the Sudanese government and people to overcome all obstacles and challenges.
