Memorandum of Understanding between Women National Group (WNG) and University of Dongola

Women National Group and Dongola University College of Community Development signed a memorandum of understanding to empower women and girls economically, socially, and politically.

The President Women National Group Dr. Sara Abbo, praised the effective partnerships that bring the community together with universities, colleges, UNHCR, and organizations operating in Sudan and the Northern State.

Sara Abu added that the society of the northern state is a harmonious and cohesive society that recognizes women’s rights, according to the teachings of religion and the principles of ancient civilization. Dr. Sara mentioned that the partnership will be crucial for the advancement of Sudanese societies.

Dr. Sarah stated that they will sign a number of memoranda of understanding with some universities and workshops, and indicated that the first workshop will be implemented after Eid Al-Adha with the University of Dongola.

This memorandum of understanding aims to provide awareness services in the areas of sustainable development, raise awareness, and build projects related to the rights of women and girls. It also seeks to develop joint cooperation to achieve the goals of reconstruction, development, and stability in the post-war phase.

It is worth noting that(WNG) The National Women’s Group A Sudanese voluntary, non-profit, non-partisan organization established on February 24, 2025,
in response to the urgent need to empower women and girls, especially in conflict-affected
areas. The group includes a diverse membership of professional, academic, and activist women working together to promote social justice, peacebuilding, and women’s rights.

The National Women’s Group vision a stable Sudan where women and girls enjoy dignity, justice, peace, and sustainable development—especially in conflict-affected regions.

The group mission is
to strengthen the capacities and skills of women and girls through training, empowerment, advocacy, and partnerships to achieve inclusive development and social justice.

The strategic objectives of the group , to promote women’s participation in peacebuilding and development, advocate for national issues and reject tribalism and extremism , build the capacities of members and partner organizations , economically and socially empower women and girls, especially young women, monitor and document violations of women’s rights.
