AcoGaps Organizes high-level training course for trainers in post-traumatic psychosocial support

The high-level training course for trainers in post-traumatic psychosocial support was launched.
It was organized by the African Center for Governance, Peace and Transition Studies and the Sudanese Trainers Association, with the participation of the Italian organization Music for Peace.
The course aimed at enhancing the capacity of humanitarian, social, and psychological workers to address the consequences of trauma and armed conflict and their impact on individuals and communities.
It also aimed at providing them with the necessary knowledge to develop psychological support strategies, build psychological and community support networks, and develop skills to provide post-traumatic psychosocial support services.
The course content was presented by psychologist and trainer Dr. Osman Mirghani, with contributions from Dr. Salah Al-Mubarak, a professor at the National University, Dr. Itimad Jaafar, and Dr. Hanan Mohammed, Director of the Khatwa Center.
The opening session was addressed by Dr. Mahmoud Zein El Abidine, Director of the AcoGaps; Dr. Fadl Mahmoud, Chairman of the Sudanese Trainers Association; Mr. Vincenzo Recalbuto of the Music for Peace Organization; and Ms. Buthaina Rahma, Director of the General Administration for Family Affairs at the Federal Ministry of Social Development, representing the Undersecretary of the Ministry.
The opening session was participated by Major General Bahloul Babiker Kodi, Acting Commissioner of the Disarmament Commission; Ms. Yusra Ahmed, Commissioner at the National Commission for Human Rights; and Dr. Hassan Akbar, Vice President of the Sudanese Trainers Association.
It is worth noting that the training course will continue until May 27, with the participation of 30 trainees representing 16 institutions and organizations.
