The NHIF completes the availability of medicines and medical devices for the first quarter of 2025

The Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) , Dr. Farouk Nour Al-Daim, stated that the presidency of the Fund delivered the state’s medicines for the first quarter of 2025. The items amounted to 125, which is the pharmaceutical list approved by the Board of Directors according to the emergency plan. Dr. Farouk mentioned that the methodology for ensuring the availability of medicines depends mainly on purchases from the Medical Supplies Fund, and that items not available in the supplies are procured through a tender process conducted by a specialized technical committee. Dr. Farouk added that the medicines for the first quarter have been transferred to stores for branches and are now provided through pharmacies for subscribers at a quarter of the value, with a significant supply of chronic disease and life-saving medicines. The Director General of the Fund revealed that the medicines for the first quarter also included the provision of laboratory consumables, diagnostics, dental consumables, and some medical devices for the states.
