Khatwa Initiative: One step can change everything

Khatwa (Step) Initiative is an initiative that aims to enhance community awareness about the importance of volunteering by organizing awareness campaigns and community events. The goal is to motivate young people to participate in volunteer activities and to organize and direct youth forces to build a better future through collective effort and organized work, achieving the goals required of the initiative with high efficiency.

Panda John/ the owner of the idea of establishing the initiative told the Citizen that (Khatwa) An idea that was born under difficult circumstances, in which the main important goal is to create a kind of positivity through learning in areas that alleviate a significant part of the psychological pressure for young men and women, as well as other age groups. This initiative aims to create indirect dose of awareness that guarantees families the safety of their sons under the conditions of war.

John said :We opened courses in the field of English at various levels, as well as courses in first aid, with the help
young people who hold first aid certificates “. We were able to benefit from the trainees during the period of fevers in a way that motivated a large number of young women in the old sky area to assist the local community with administering injections and installing intravenous lines.

This effort based on the interest of several notables in the area to provide the necessary assistance to students at the academic level (basic, secondary, and university) by first reducing psychological pressures and second, taking advantage of their time in something useful , John added .With the individual efforts of all the participants, we were able to continue.

Panda John stated that they formed a committee that included a large number of neighborhood youth, and , organized a comprehensive cleaning campaign that covered a large part of the neighborhood. “We were able to achieve a significant accomplishment, and within days, we noticed a noticeable decrease in mosquitoes and flies. We are currently continuing to take care of the cleanliness of the environment “.

John pointed out that, in solidarity with Human Abel, mothers and daughters of the citizens of Sheqla North, in Haj Yousif area in Sharq Al Neel locality, were registered and counted for the purpose of distributing a women’s bag from the Human Abel service organization. As a contribution to enhancing health and safety and providing services to the living person, the Khatwa Charitable Initiative took this service step, seeking to promote the voluntary and humanitarian work of the people of the region.
