GIS carries out a special operation and seizes the largest Captagon supply network in Port Sudan

The General Intelligence Service (GIS) – Organized Crime Control Department – carried out a special security operation targeting one of the largest networks specializing in the supply of chemical drugs.
The force arrested several suspects in possession of 75,000 Captagon pills at the entrance to Port Sudan.
The operation was carried out in close coordination with the Customs Anti-Smuggling Police and the Anti-Narcotics Police. All legal measures were taken against the suspects through the competent prosecution.
The Crime Control Department of the GiS’s Anti-Terrorism Department had previously carried out an operation on April 13, 2025, which resulted in the seizure of 815 kilograms of various drugs, the largest seizure recorded recently. In addition, weapons and ammunition were found in the possession of the network members.
In a special statement, the Director of the Department responsible for combating organized crime at the GIS confirmed that these operations are part of the efforts of the General Intelligence Service and relevant police departments to enhance community security, combat the threat of drugs, and limit their spread and trafficking, as part of a national strategy to protect the country from this dangerous scourge. He added that these successive security strikes are evidence of the high level of preparedness and effective coordination among relevant agencies, reflecting the state’s commitment to pursuing criminal networks that threaten the security and stability of society.
