Foreign Ministry praises international positions rejecting threats to Sudan’s sovereignty and unity

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that it is following with appreciation and interest the successive international positions rejecting threats to Sudan’s sovereignty and unity and the existing national legitimacy through an attempt to establish an authority in the name of the Janjaweed militia and its affiliates, starting from Kenya, and under the supervision of the militia’s regional sponsor.

The ministry praised the strong principled positions expressed by the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, and the African member states of the Security Council: Algeria, Somalia, and Sierra Leone, and the positions of the other member states of the Council: Russia, China, the United States, Britain, and Guyana, and the statement issued by Turkey.

These clear positions confirm that the Kenyan presidency’s irresponsible behavior, by embracing the genocidal militia and seeking to legitimize its unprecedented crimes, has isolated it externally and internally, and placed Kenya in the category of a rogue state against international norms.

We renew our call to all members of the international community and regional and international organizations, especially the African Union, to condemn this serious threat to regional peace and security and to tamper with the established rules of the international system.
