Federal Minister of Health praises UNDP projects and calls for more cooperation

The Federal Ministry of Health launched a Global Support Fund grant implemented through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to restore the medical supply distribution fleet, which included 7 supervision vehicles and 8 medicine storage and transport vehicles. The remaining vehicles are expected to arrive in the second half of 2025 at a total cost of one million dollars.

In his statements, Dr. Haitham Mohammed Ibrahim stressed that the support comes within the framework of the UNDP program’s commitment to support the Ministry of Health, by promoting health activities such as treating tuberculosis and AIDS, and strengthening the health system and basic health care.

The minister pointed to the importance of coordination with the UNDP program, pointing to the ministry’s efforts in providing free medicines and overcoming the challenges facing the health sector.
In turn, Surayo Berzkova, Acting Resident Representative of the program, stressed the continued support of the health sector in Sudan.
