AcoGaps discusses with Sennar Governor ways to support early recovery and reconstruction

A delegation from the African Center for Governance, Peace and Transition Studies (AcoGaps) headed by Dr. Mahmoud Zein El-Abidine, Director General of AcoGaps met with Major General Al-Zubair Hassan Al-Sayed Al-Jabra, Governor of Sennar State, in his office in Port Sudan, as part of the Center’s efforts to support national efforts for early recovery and reconstruction after the war.
The Center’s delegation praised the great sacrifices of the armed forces, joint forces, police and security forces, besides the mobilized forces in liberating the state from the rebel militia and returning it to the bosom of the homeland, appreciating the great achievements of the Governor and members of his government in facilitating the voluntary return and the tireless efforts to restore life in the state.
The meeting discussed the challenges facing Sennar State in the post-conflict phase, and the delegation of the Center expressed its aspiration to enhance cooperation in the areas of capacity building, peacebuilding, strengthening community cohesion, early recovery and reconstruction, in a way that contributes to restoring livelihoods, ensuring food security, improving the living conditions of the affected population and the effective return of life throughout the state.
