Khartoum State Security Committee sets measures to address the water crisis

The Khartoum State Security Affairs Coordination Committee stressed in its meeting today, headed by the Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, the dangers of firing live ammunition at public events or during celebrations to cleanse an area of ​​rebel militias, which may cause injuries among citizens.

Meanwhile, the committee put in place a number of measures to avoid the drinking water shortage crisis that the state is suffering from after the Merowe power station went out of service after being targeted by rebel militias, which led to the shutdown of the Manara station.
The measures included employing regular forces’ mechanisms to transport drinking water, in addition to providing fuel to use generators to operate wells and pushing more tankers to neighborhoods and service facilities.

On the other hand, the meeting was reassured about the arrangements for banks to resume the process of receiving money from citizens, in implementation of the Central Bank of Sudan circular issued in this regard.

The committee also welcomed the police officers who recently joined the state as part of the police transfer movement.
