Coordination Meeting with Organizations to Arrange Urgent Health Interventions in the Gezira State

Within the framework of the health and humanitarian response, a coordination meeting with organizations operating in the country was held this afternoon at the quarantine hall in Port Sudan, chaired by the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, and in the presence of the World Health Organization, UNICEF and a number of health sector partners from the main offices of United Nations agencies, international and local organizations and public administrations. The meeting aims to discuss health interventions in the Gezira State after its liberation from the Militias, joint coordination mechanisms between health partners and arranging for safe return.

In press statements after the meeting, the Federal Minister of Health referred to the priorities of the next phase of operating health institutions in Gezira and the conduct of the health sector, especially in medical supply, and the flow of providing basic health services in health institutions and responding to epidemics and expected emergencies.
