Jaber briefs the Arab League on the circumstances of the Daglo militia’s rebellion against the state

Member of the Sovereignty Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief, Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, briefed the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, on the circumstances of the Daglo terrorist militia’s rebellion on April 15, 2023, which occurred as a result of its failure to control the country through a fully-fledged military coup that the Sudanese Armed Forces were able to suppress at the appropriate time. This came during his meeting today with a high-level delegation from the Arab League headed by the Secretary-General of the League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
The member of the Sovereignty Council referred to the historical background of the formation of the militia and its relationship with the Sudanese army, which it rebelled against, and the adoption of political projects by its leaders that conflict with the mission and functional nature of these forces, with the assistance of some political forces and negative movements. The Sovereignty Council member also informed the Secretary-General of the Arab League that stopping the war in Sudan begins with stopping the supply of weapons by the countries supporting the rebellion and preventing the sending of mercenaries from some neighboring countries. For his part, the Secretary-General of the Arab League affirmed the Arab League’s solidarity with the Sudanese government, noting that the purpose of the visit is to provide moral support to Sudan in the face of the current crisis.
