Fees in private, national and foreign higher education institutions fees approved

Professor Mohamed Hassan Dahab, who is in charge of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chairman of the National Council for Higher Education in Port Sudan, chaired a meeting via Zoom of the Committee for Regulating Private, National and Foreign Higher Education Institutions, which approved a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in a number of non-governmental higher education institutions. It also approved the decision to set fees in private, national and foreign higher education institutions for the year 2024, which called on institutions to adhere to the unified regulations for fees in higher education and scientific research institutions for the year 2018, while providing the minimum administrative and academic staff represented by the dean, secretary of scientific affairs, college agent and program coordinators at the headquarters of private and national universities and colleges within Sudan, and to adhere to institutional work as stated in the establishment order for the year 2013 and the law of the National Council for Higher Education.
The decision confirmed that no center for higher education institutions outside Sudan will be allowed to open unless the conditions and controls are met according to the regulations of external centers and approved by the ministry, calling on all institutions to regularize their situations and practice academic activity inside Sudan, while activating means of communication between private universities and colleges and their students by taking advantage of websites and modern technologies.
The decision stipulated that the fees for issuing general certificates should not exceed 120,000 pounds, the fees for issuing detailed certificates should not exceed 200,000 pounds, the fees for the statement should not exceed 20,000 pounds, and the fees for the academic record should not exceed 150,000 pounds, with exam and hosting fees being included in the tuition fees.
Professor Dahab stressed that the ministry will not tolerate any institution that violates its decisions, and will take all legal and administrative measures against institutions that do not adhere to its directives.
It is worth noting that the Committee for Regulating Private, National and Foreign Higher Education Institutions is responsible for studying and evaluating projects of private, national and foreign higher education institutions according to locally and internationally recognized scientific standards, and works to follow up on the performance and progress of these institutions, and provide them with advice and counsel to help them perform well and advance.
