Omdurman; the safehouse in Khartoum State

Today, it is 1 year and 8 months of the Capital of Sudan invasion. Almost 2 years passing and the level of internal and external population immigration is at a continuous increase. The Sudanses population has recorded the highest migration rate as a result of war in the history of wars displacement. According to International Organization for Migration (IOM); “nearly 30 per cent of Sudan’s population has been displaced. More than half of those displaced are women, and more than a quarter of them are children under the age of five”.

The armed forces are working very hard and they take into consideration the lives of civilians at each movement. Making operations of all kinds (Air and ground) the Armed Forces are collaborating with all its units to make sure the Sudanese people can get back to their normal lives very soon.

One great example is the City of Omdurman. One of the main cities in the State of Khartoum. Omdurman has witnessed multiple attacks and fights but not as compared to Khartoum and Bahri. The brave people of Omdurman are living in difficult situations, but refuse to give up their homes, they stood one handed, encouraged by the presence of the Armed Forces in the areas and kept guarding their families and houses in most of areas. Many of the people who got out when it was very dangerous for them to stay are now back to their houses and neighbors. The government at Locality level has made great progress of providing aids and medical assistance to all the people of Omdurman, even banks and pharmacies have started to work again at a steady pace.

The progress the Armed Forces are making is tremendous in Omdurman, and they are working even harder every day. Many other places have been freed of the RSF and people are getting back to their houses. A noticeable return pattern is seen, people from Port-Sudan are getting back to their main homes in Singa and Omdurman. From here I would like to salute the Sudanese government, which is providing free buses for home returns. As the costs are insanely increasing, people are suffering to afford even rent in Port-Sudan, Not to mentioned the increased expenses outside the country compared to inside!

In the end, may Allah grant wisdom and positive thinking to our leaders to end this war, and may Him bless all the Sudanese and grant them peace and reconciliation.
