The arrest of Major General Gibril Tab Gatjik on charges of recruiting mercenaries for the militia is evidence of the involvement of southern leaders in the war on Sudan
Trucks transporting fuel from Juba to Wau and from there to Raja via Kafia Kingi and to the militia areas
No one believes that the government of the South and President Salva Kiir do not know what is happening, bbecause what is happening is bigger than being done secretly
The weakest faith is for President Salva Kiir to issue an appeal to his forces to refrain from fighting alongside the Rapid Support Militia
Cargo planes continue to arrive from Juba to the Sudanese border hidden from the radar
South Sudan’s interests with Sudan are greater than its interests with the UAEo and the militia,
In March 2024, the Sudanese army revealed the capture of about 14 citizens of the State of South Sudan after retaking the headquarters of the General Authority for Radio and Television, who were fighting in the ranks of the Rapid Support Forces, and explained that the group that was arrested was specialized In heavy artillery and operating drones.
In mid-February, a UN team of experts said in a report to the Security Council that the Rapid Support Forces had secured a supply line from South Sudan to obtain fuel via trucks that move every week from Juba to Wau, from where the fuel is transported via trucks to Raja, and then transported to the Rapid Support Forces’ control sites in South Darfur via Kafia Kingi.
The report spoke of the involvement of senior officers in the Wau army in these operations, and many pictures showed armed men from South Sudan wearing the Rapid Support Forces uniform fighting the army in East Nile, the Sports City, Khartoum North and other areas.
In June 2024, the Sudan People’s Liberation Army in opposition in Unity State arrested a South Sudanese commander fighting alongside the Rapid Support Forces, Major General Jibril Tab Gatjik, on charges of recruiting young people in the border area. According to officials, General Tab defected from the opposition and joined the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces, and then to the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces after the outbreak of the war on April 15, 2023.
Major Karbino Yai Bazali, the media officer for the Second Division of the army, confirmed that Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition in Tonq area of Unity State arrested General Tap, and said that General Tap was arrested last week on the border between South Sudan and Sudan, and that Tap mobilized citizens to join the Rapid Support Forces to attack the positions of the Sudanese Armed Forces.
General William Manyang Mayak, commander of the Fourth Infantry Division in Unity State, had said that the army had reliable information about the cooperation of the Rapid Support Forces with the South Sudanese rebels led by General Stephen Buay Rolnyang, and General Manyang said that the Rapid Support Forces and General Buay’s forces were planning to launch attacks on the city of Al-Fula and Heglig in West Kordofan, and then on the borders of South Sudan and the oil fields there.
According to international reports and according to what was published by Western newspapers, and when we wrote previously about South Sudan’s involvement in supporting the militia, we can say that South Sudan is considered one of the most important centers for supplying the militias with mercenaries, weapons and fuel, after Umm Jaras in Chad .
Despite the publication of information and reports about cargo planes flying from Juba towards the Sudanese border, and it was proven that these planes turn off their navigational tracking devices when approaching the border, these flights continued, and the last plane, according to reliable sources, took off from Juba on October 9, 2024, heading to the Sudanese border at seven in the morning, and disappeared from the radar to appear at two in the afternoon near Juba Airport, and it is a C130. No one believes that the government of the South and President Salva Kiir do not know what is happening, as what is happening is greater than to be done in secret.
A southern friend (since Sudan was one country) spoke to me with great sorrow, asserting that President Salva Kiir does not know, and that he is absent in many issues, and he said that a group around him and some members of his family are involved in deals with the Emirates.
It is our duty, and in order to preserve the brotherly relations between the two peoples, and the relations of good neighborliness, to demand that President Salva Kiir issue directives to his troops to refrain from fighting alongside the Rapid Support Militia, and that The law will be applied to anyone who has committed a crime outside the borders, and he must direct his forces not to allow stolen goods to enter his country, besides issuing a clear decision to prevent the re-export of fuel to the militia, and he must take the necessary measures to avoid being a party and partner in the war.
South Sudan’s interests with Sudan are greater than its interests with the UAE and the militia. The Sudanese people will not forgive anyone whose hands are stained with blood.
President Salva Kiir must issue a government order prohibiting any facilities that have been or will be provided for the benefit of the militia, the most important of which is criminalizing allowing his country to be a transit point for supporting the militia.
