Ambassador Khalid Musa Meets Ministers of Health and Education in Rwanda

Ambassador Khalid Musa, Sudan’s Chargé d’Affaires in Kigali, met with Dr. Sabin Nisanizeyimana, Minister of Health, and Joseph Nsenqiyimana, Minister of Education in Rwanda.

The ambassador discussed with the Minister of Health the frameworks and cooperation programs between the two countries, praising the efforts of the Rwandan authorities in controlling and reducing the risks of hemorrhagic fever.
His Excellency gave a detailed explanation of the health conditions in the country, pointing to the systematic destruction of infrastructure, hospitals and medical institutions by the rebel militia, explaining the efforts undertaken by the Ministry of Health, despite the challenges and lack of resources.
He requested that Rwanda provide technical assistance to Sudan, in light of its high experience in the field of combating infectious and movable diseases, and organizing the health sector during the pandemics.
The ambassador also discussed training Sudanese doctors in Rwandan medical institutions, as well as the best ways to obtain medical insurance services for the Sudanese community. He also conveyed to His Excellency the readiness of Sudanese doctors and consultants abroad to organize training workshops in Rwanda to raise health capabilities in the subspecialties, besides easing health insurance to the Sudanese community in Rwanda.

For his part, the Rwandan Minister of Health affirmed his country’s readiness to provide technical assistance in coordination between the two ministries.

In the ambassador’s meeting with the Rwandan Minister of Education, the two sides discussed ways to promote academic cooperation relations with scientific research, as the two sides agreed on specific arrangements to facilitate the training of internships and admission procedures in universities, as well as recognition of the scientific degrees granted by the Council of Medical Specialties and the development of scientific and academic cooperation according to the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Higher Education and its Rwandan counterpart.

The ambassador valued President Paul Kagame’s open policy approaches to the African peoples, as well as opening the doors of universities for Sudanese students, and welcoming the Sudanese community under the current circumstances.
