Al-Da’ak stated that the Qatari Red Crescent has been keen to provide everything it can to help the Sudanese people in order to achieve stability. He pointed out that since the outbreak of the current crisis, the Qatari Red Crescent has intervened directly despite the difficulties facing the banking sector in Sudan due to the war.
He added that the total humanitarian aid and interventions that reached 29 planes were represented in the health sector and food security. “Today’s distribution to journalists comes within the framework of the Qatari Red Crescent targeting the needy groups affected by the war, such as medical personnel, teachers, dramatists, writers and journalists.” Al-Da’ak said
The Qatari Red Crescent works to target one of the groups in each distribution period.
He affirmed that the journalists’ group is considered one of the most important groups, as humanitarian work depends on correct information to determine needs in many cases where it is difficult to reach closed or inaccessible areas.
For his part, the head of the Sudanese Journalists Association, Muhyiddin Shajar, said that in coordination with the Qatari Red Crescent, 90 food boxes were distributed today to all journalists who are members of the association from the displaced, and even those who do not represent the association’s membership in Port Sudan.
He pointed out that this program comes within the framework of providing support to journalists affected by the war, explaining that it is the first work carried out from within the association’s headquarters, expressing their aspiration to distribute more food supplies in the coming days, to help journalists and rescue them in these difficult circumstances.
