Al-Burhan Back Home After an official visit to Juba

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, 1st..Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan returned to the country today after one-dau official visit to Juba, during which he held joint talks with the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, regarding the course of bilateral relations and ways to support and develop it.

He was received at Port Sudan Airport by the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Yassin Ibrahim Yassin, the Secretary-General of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Mohamed Al-Gali Ali Youssef, and a number of ministers.

The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Awad, said in a press statement that the visit was fruitful and constructive and achieved its goals, indicating that the talks between the two presidents touched on the course of bilateral relations and prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
He added that the two sides agreed to remove all obstacles to the transport of South Sudan’s oil through Sudanese territory, by forming a joint committee between the two countries’ oil ministries and developing an operational plan to resume pumping southern oil, in addition to the agreement to transport humanitarian aid to South Kordofan State via Juba International Airport.

The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs commended the level of relations between Sudan and South Sudan, pointing to the advanced level of cooperation between the two countries in all fields.
