Director of the WHO visits the Adre crossing

Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director of the World Health Organization, visited, today, the Adre crossing on the Sudanese-Chadian border, accompanied by the Governor of Abeche and some Chadian ministers.
He was also accompanied by a number of representatives from all relevant UN organizations, namely the World Food Program (WFP), UNICEF, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
The Director of the Organization did not make any statements about the deteriorating humanitarian situation, but he supervised the passage of 6 relief trucks through the crossing, including 3 trucks from WHO, one truck from UNICEF, and 3 trucks from WFP.
The Director of the Organization also visited the MSF hospital in Adre.
After this short visit, the Director of the World Health Organization returned to the Chadian capital, N’Djamena.
