Al-Burhan meets the Rwandan President

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, 1st. Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan met in Kigali with the Rwandan President Paul Kagame.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support and promote them.

Al-Burhan briefed the Rwandan President on the situation in Sudan against the backdrop of the rebellion led by the terrorist Rapid Support Militia against the state and its institutions and the ongoing efforts to address the crisis, indicating that the government of Sudan has dealt with all the proposed initiatives positively at a time when the terrorist militia is intransigent and refuses to implement the obligations stipulated in the Jeddah Declaration signed on May 11.

He stressed the keenness of the government of Sudan on peace, indicating that peace must be a just peace that achieves pride and dignity for the Sudanese people.

For his part, the Rwandan President stressed the solid relations between Sudan and Rwanda, expressing his thanks to the Head of the Sovereignty Council for accepting the invitation and visiting Rwanda, wishing Sudan continued peace, security and stability.

It is noteworthy that the meeting was attended by the Director of the General Intelligence Service, Lieutenant General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, and Ambassadors Khaled Musa Dafallah, Chargé d’Affaires of the Sudanese Embassy in Rwanda.
