Jaber meets with the National Committee for War Crimes and Violations of the Rebel Rapid Support Forces

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, 1st. Lieutenant General  Ibrahim Jaber met yesterday  with a delegation of the National Committee for War Crimes and Violations of the Rapid Support Forces  headed by Yasser Bashir Al-Bukhari, the Acting Attorney General.

The head of the committee, said in a press statement that the member of the Sovereignty Council was briefed during the meeting on the committee’s performance during the past period with regard to the violations committed by the rebel Rapid Support militia in the country, represented in killing, displacement, rape, plundering citizens’ property, recruiting children, and destroying infrastructure.

He added that the meeting emphasized the necessity of accelerating investigation procedures and bringing the accused to trial without being restricted by spatial jurisdiction.

The committee briefed the Sovereignty Council member on the results of its participation in the Human Rights Council meetings in Geneva, its presentation of the crimes committed by the militia in Sudan, and the positions of some Arab, African and Islamic countries in support of Sudan in order to preserve its unity and sovereignty.

The head of the Committee revealed the establishment of a website to receive citizens’ reports about the violations they are exposed to, which will be announced within a week.
