The Ministry of Social Development revealed the allocation of 50% of the new year’s budget as grants and social supports, focusing on poor communities, in cooperation with the National Initiative to Combat Drugs
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, Jamal Al-Nile Abdullah, said during a press conference at the Suna Forum about the community initiative to reduce drugs under the slogan “A Drug-Free Society”. Drugs are a societal phenomenon that affects societies, Sudan is now going through this dangerous phenomenon, especially since Sudan is a crossing point for several countries, which contributed to the entry of drugs and the exacerbation of the crisis, hoping that the country would come out of this crisis stronger and control all negative phenomena.
Director of the General Administration of Social Welfare, Suad Deshul Mahmoud, said that the administration is working to reach a healthy and healthy environment in which young people enjoy security and stability. She pointed out that drugs remain the responsibility of everyone and the state’s keenness on youth, the Ministry of Social Development is working to confront such problems that threaten the social fabric, as it launched the anti-drug initiative to confront this phenomenon, saying that this initiative aims to a healthy and drug-free society, provide harmony and cohesion between the components of society, provide care for the youth segment and raise awareness.
She appealed for the establishment of government centers in Khartoum and the States, and the conduct studies and statistics for users to contribute to addressing the problem, calling on departments and institutions to integrate departments and work together to uphold religious values and community awareness to combat drugs.
Batoul Badi Mahmoud, representative of the Humanitarian Aid Commission and the National Anti-Drug Network, said that all community initiatives in all states must organize work and ensure follow-up and dissemination of legal work and work to combat this phenomenon until the campaign achieves.
