Journalists for Children and ( CAWTAR ) sign an agreement against FGM

Journalists for Children Organization and the Center of Arab Women for Training and Research (CAWTAR) in Tunisia signed a cooperation agreement (via the Zoom application) signed by (CAWTAR) Dr. Sakina Bouraoui, Executive Director of CAWTAR, and Dr. Asmaa Hassan Al-Tom the Secretary-General of Journalist for Children on behalf of the Organization .
The agreement stipulated a number of items represented in training, research and advocacy, as well as awareness, communication and exchange activities. Visits, studies, reports, research of common interest and others, and the fight against female genital mutilation and cutting, as well as strengthening the bonds between the signed exchanges.

Dr .Asma pointed out that the agreement includes holding seminars, conferences and scientific seminars to discuss issues related to the issue of combating female genital mutilation and cutting.
It is worth noting that the Center of Arab Women for Training and Research (CAWTAR) was created in 1993, in response to the desire expressed by a number of Arab stakeholders, including local, regional and international institutions as well as governments, to establish a center of academic research and field studies relating to women’s conditions.
In addition to collecting data, indicators and statistics on women’s economic, social and political conditions, CAWTAR significantly contributes to capacity building of stakeholders, enhancing networking, building strategic partnership and strengthening advocacy for women’s rights.
