“Employers’ Union” Commends the Sudanese Standards Authority’s Technical and Media Advancement

The Sudanese Employers’ Union has commended the remarkable qualitative development and notable improvement in the performance of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO), describing it as a frontline defense for protecting the country from economic and social risks, particularly amid the exceptional and challenging circumstances the country has experienced.
The remarks were made in a press statement by Dr. Abbas Ali Al-Sayed, Deputy Chairman of the Sudanese Employers’ Union and a member of the Authority’s Board of Directors, following his participation in the Authority’s first board meeting of the current year.
He said the private sector places great confidence in the Authority’s role during the next phase, particularly in developing national exports and creating greater added value.
Dr. Abbas Ali Al-Sayed stressed that the private sector is entering a new phase aimed at turning the crises and challenges faced by economic enterprises into promising opportunities. He noted that the Union has prepared a comprehensive plan to reshape its policies in production and value chains, with the goal of positioning Sudan among leading exporting countries, particularly in the food and clothing sectors.
He called on all producers, exporters and suppliers to strictly comply with approved standards, specifications and weights throughout all stages of production, import and export, in order to strengthen the reputation of Sudanese products and ensure their compliance with the highest international quality standards, while benefiting from the technical support and ongoing services provided by the Authority.
The Deputy Chairman of the Union also praised the Authority’s media outreach and effective public awareness role in educating various economic sectors. He called for greater efforts in education and awareness and proposed organizing an open awareness day at the headquarters of the Sudanese Employers’ Union to strengthen communication and raise awareness of standards and their importance in supporting the national economy.
