Te mThe conflict has entered a new phase of instability as military action continues instead of negotiations. The Abiy Ahmed government has shown no interest in implementing the terms of the peace agreement signed by both sides.

Numerous indicators suggest a renewed war between Tigray and the federal government in Addis Ababa, but this time with new alliances among the warring parties. In the two-year war in 2020, Eritrea and the Amhara allied with Abiy Ahmed to counter the Tigrayan military machine, which the Ethiopian army was unable to confront. Today, however, the Amhara and Eritrea are allies of Tigray, with regional support, in their confrontation with Abiy Ahmed. The Horn of Africa is sliding into a new quagmire of instability as a result of the reckless policies pursued by Abiy Ahmed regarding the issues of Ethiopia’s regions.
