New group of 45 individuals and 7 combat vehicles defect from the RSF militia and surrender to the Armed Forces

Former Rapid Support Forces commander, Al-Nur Ahmed Adam, known as Al-Nur Al-Qubba, stated in a press release today (Friday) that the Armed Forces and other security forces received a new group that announced its defection from the Rapid Support Forces militia and surrendered.

The defecting force comprises 45 individuals and 7 fully equipped combat vehicles, according to the Sudan News Agency.

Al-Nur Al-Qubba confirmed that similar surrenders are ongoing and that a number of Rapid Support Forces militia members have joined the Armed Forces recently.

He added that the militia has become “devoid of principles, a cause, and a strategy,” asserting that the massive support it receives from foreign entities will not alter the outcome of the battle, and that its objectives are limited to personal interests.

Al-Nur Ahmed Adam congratulated the armed forces and supporting forces on what he described as the victories achieved in the Bara, Jabra al-Sheikh, and Umm Sayala axes, emphasizing the continued retreat of the Rapid Support Forces militia in those areas.

He called on citizens in Darfur and Kordofan not to be swayed by incitement and urged militia members to surrender and join the armed forces. He noted that the Sudanese state welcomes all those who abandon the fighting and return to its ranks, calling for unified efforts to build Sudan.

For his part, Captain Othman al-Nur Hasab Khalil, a member of the force that surrendered, said that he joined the armed forces, having come from Bara with the surrendering group, and called on his comrades to follow them and abandon the fighting. He added that the reasons for their surrender were due to what he described as a war of a racist and regional nature, as well as their feeling of marginalization in their rights.
