Sudan: Any threat to Egypt is a threat to the entire region

The Government of the Republic of Sudan announced its condemnation and denunciation of the treacherous attack that targeted the port of Damietta in the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt by a drone, and the resulting targeting of two ships, considering it an unacceptable act of aggression, a violation of international law, and a serious threat to the security, safety, and stability of the region.

In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, obtained by Heart of Africa News, the government affirmed its full solidarity with and support for the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt in confronting all that targets its security and stability or infringes upon its sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing that any threat to Egypt’s security represents a threat to the security of the entire region, affirming full support to all legitimate measures taken by the Arab Republic of Egypt to defend its national security, protect its vital installations, and preserve its sovereignty, in accordance with the provisions of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

The Sudanese government reiterated its call for the necessity of respecting the sovereignty of states and refraining from targeting civilian installations and vital infrastructure or endangering the security of international navigation, in order to contribute to maintaining regional and international peace and security.
