Integrated Nutrition Campaign Planning and Evaluation Meeting Concludes with Key Recommendations

Khartoum –

The National Nutrition Program concluded its 2026 Integrated Nutrition Campaign Planning and Evaluation Meeting today at the Holiday Villa Hotel in Khartoum, issuing a set of key recommendations aimed at improving the implementation of future campaigns.

The recommendations included setting clear timelines for campaign implementation, strengthening political support, reviewing supply plans and ensuring the timely delivery of commodities to states well ahead of the campaign, increasing financial allocations for frontline personnel, extending training periods to enhance staff capacity, implementing the campaign by the end of May in the targeted states, and strengthening coordination with Health Promotion departments.

Dr. Asmahan Al-Khair, Director of Maternal and Child Health at the Federal Ministry of Health, said previous efforts had contributed to the success of the campaigns by reaching a large number of children. She called for continued teamwork, learning from past experiences, and maintaining a strong focus on quality following the experience gained over recent years.

“I am fully confident that you will implement the upcoming campaigns with the required level of quality,” she said.

Dr. Al-Khair also commended for its continuous support to the National Nutrition Program.

Ms. Tawadd Abdullah Al-Khidr, Director of Health Promotion, affirmed that the campaigns would proceed smoothly through integrated efforts to improve children’s health, describing the integrated campaign as a successful model of collaboration.

Dr. Qusai Mohamed Osman, Director of the National Child Health Program, stressed the importance of working hand in hand to implement interventions that benefit children’s health, noting that “nutrition is the foundation of health.” He added that adolescent health would be incorporated into the integrated campaign alongside efforts to strengthen routine health services.

Meanwhile, Representative  Mohamed Ali reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to working with the Ministry of Health and partners to ensure the delivery of health services through campaigns and other interventions.

“We will keep these recommendations at the forefront of our efforts to improve children’s health,” he said.
