Higher Education Minister Welcomes First Group of Returning Sudanese Academics from Egypt

Sudan’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Ahmed Madawi Musa, welcomed the first group of Sudanese university professors and their families returning from Cairo to Khartoum under a national initiative aimed at facilitating the return of 1,000 academics to support the recovery of higher education institutions and the resumption of academic activities.
The Minister emphasized that the return of academic professionals is essential for restoring stability in universities, supporting national reconstruction, and advancing sustainable development. He affirmed that the return program will continue in coordination with the Hope Committee for Voluntary Return and the Professional Union of University Professors, in line with government directives.
Prof. Musa also praised the efforts of all partners involved in the initiative and expressed his appreciation to Egypt for hosting Sudanese academics over the past years, as well as to the institutions that contributed to organizing and facilitating their safe return.
