America’s Other Face: Washington embraces Sudan’ in a Journey of Recovery

In a move that reflects a shift in both diplomatic and humanitarian landscapes, in Washington, the U.S .A. capital, Sudan’s Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, took part in a high-level roundtable idedicated to highlighting the humanitarian situations in Sudan, recovery efforts, and the rebuilding of the health system amid the ongoing war. The gathering revealed “the other face” of America, bringing together over 45 international, humanitarian, relief and development organizations, along with donor institutions and UN agencies, to examine the challenges and opportunities available to Sudan.
The Minister affirmed that, despite the un+ precedantef challanges, , Sudan is pressing forward with restoring health services and rehabilitating facilities. He stressed that recovery should not be postponed to the end of war, and that investing in health is an investment in stability, peace, and the country’s future.
The roundtable resulted in financial and in-kind pledges exceeding $150 million to support humanitarian programs, early recovery efforts, and the reconstruction of the health sector—a clear sign of the international community’s trust in Sudan’s ability to recover and to enhance heakth care services to its citizens. .
The event was coordinated by SAPA(Sudanese American Physcians Asdociation) , which played a prominent role in organizing and preparing the Sudan Health Sector Reconstructiion Conference… . It was attended by Sudan’s Ambassador to Washington and several diplomats, in a scene that deserves recognition and praise.
This inspiring model sends a call to all Sudanese embassies abroad and to every loyal compatriot of Sudan: to emulate the Sudanese Doctors’ Association in America, and to hold forums with partners and supporters to present the facts and strengthen cooperation. The homeland, in this critical phase, is in dire need of their efforts.
The bright face of Sudan’s sons and daughters in America shines through in the humanitarian value embodied by the $150 million pledge, in SAPA Organization, which has become a voice for those affected by the war, and in official American institutions—which we hope will come to grasp the reality of the conflict and designate the Rapid Support Forces militia as a terrorist group.. We also hope that international bodies will confront the true extent of what that militia has perpetrated , and that the Federal Ministry of Health—managed with the utmost professionalism—will continue to place health above all else, serving everyone without discrimination.
