Federal Minister of Health Discusses Ongoing Efforts and Coordination with UNICEF Representative

As part of efforts to strengthen partnership and cooperation, the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, met today in his office with UNICEF Representative Sheldon Yett, in the presence of a number of ministry officials.

The Minister commended UNICEF’s continuous support across various health and humanitarian sectors, calling for expanded interventions, particularly in insecure states. He emphasized that the Ministry is responsible for serving all citizens regardless of their location.
Dr. Ibrahim also stressed the importance of coordination in the areas of water supply, sanitation, and environmental health, while ensuring that resources are directed toward identified priorities.

For his part, UNICEF Representative Sheldon Yett reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to continuing its support for the Ministry and aligning its efforts with the Ministry’s plans. He underscored the importance of joint action in implementing priority projects and programs, particularly in immunization and vaccination, malaria control, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services.
