Al-Burhan chairs the Security and Defense Council, reviews the security situation in the country

The Security and Defense Council held its regular meeting yesterday in Khartoum, chaired by Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, Head of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. All members were present. The Council reviewed the security situation in the country.

Defense Minister Lieutenant General Hassan Daoud Kabroun stated in a press release that the Council commended the Armed Forces and their supporting forces on the various battlefronts, congratulating them on the significant victories achieved in South Kordofan, Blue Nile State, and Darfur.

He explained that the Security and Defense Council emphasized during the meeting the importance of adhering to the law, respecting the country’s sovereignty, and upholding human rights.

The Council stressed the necessity of providing basic services, particularly electricity and water, to citizens returning to the country.

The Council directed the relevant authorities to regulate the movement of individuals and armed and combat vehicles within cities and markets.

He also directed that necessary controls be put in place for local security cells and that efforts be made to identify those collaborating with the rebel militia, with a focus on investigating these collaborators.

The Security and Defense Council offered its condolences to the families of the martyrs of the Battle of Dignity, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded and injured, and the safe return of prisoners and missing persons.
