Energy Minister Inspects Continued Supply of Power Transformers from Turkey

As part of the state’s efforts to rebuild what the war destroyed, especially in the electricity sector, and the government’s ongoing efforts to create an environment conducive to the return of citizens to their homes, the Minister of Energy, Engineer Al-Mu’tasim Ibrahim Ahmed, inspected the continued supply of power transformers to Sudan during his visit to the Astor factory for the manufacture of power transformers and substations in Ankara, Turkey. Astor is an approved supplier of electrical grid components by the Sudanese Ministry of Energy.

The Minister reviewed Astor’s production capabilities. Astor is the second largest factory of its kind in Europe and supplies its products to more than ninety countries worldwide, including the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

During the visit, an agreement was reached to develop the distinguished relationship between the factory and the electricity sector in Sudan. This agreement is part of the strong relations between Sudan and Turkey and Turkey’s significant support for all vital sectors in Sudan. Both sides agreed to establish a joint coordination mechanism, including the embassy in Ankara and the company Sunkad, to undertake all necessary efforts.
